Stephanie Calhoun

Stephanie Calhoun is a charming and pleasant member of the class of 2012 who hails from Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. In her three years at Highland View Academy she has held a variety of leadership positions, including Sophomore Class President and Student Association Pastor. Her organizational skills, reliability, and her positive spirit make her a natural leader, respected by peers and faculty alike.

As the Student Association Pastor, Stephanie organized many different Campus Ministries events, including a Red Cross Blood Drive and a Penny War to raise money for a One-Day Church. Stephanie's spiritual leadership on campus is apparent, and her success in elected office is due to her personal walk with God coupled with creativity and resourcefulness.

Stephanie is an active member of the HVA Music Department, singing with the choir and elite group the Highlanders. She also has participated in the athletic department, and she frequently spends time jogging. Reading is a favorite pastime of Stephanie's, and she particularly enjoys non-fiction.

Stephanie is the daughter of Bryan and Sheryl Calhoun. Her older sister Jennifer attends Andrews University and was the recipient of this scholarship for the 2009-2010 school year, and her younger sister Allison is a freshman at HVA.

"I am thrilled that Stephanie is this year's recipient," says Jennifer Payne, English teacher at HVA. "Stephanie was the clear choice due to her sweet demeanor, academic success, and spiritual leadership."
